Personification is giving human traits (qualities, feelings, action, or characteristics) to non-living objects (things, colors, qualities, or ideas).
For example: The window winked at me. The verb, wink, is a human action. A window is a non-living object.
Homework - Find items in your house and personify them in the form of a descriptive passage or poem.

ReplyDeleteMy alarm clock is completely jealous,due to the new relationship I have with my handsome bed.It's like he doesn't want me to shut my eyes for a second or so and if i do he will just whine and groan.

I tried turning it off but 5 minutes later the infernal screeching pierced through my ears.Once again I attempted to turn it off with my eyes half shut.But I failed once again.The alarm clock has now set itself the task to wake me up this time.It SHRIEKED at me ,forcing me to get up.

ReplyDeleteAs i fell of my bed, the floor caught me.It wouldn't let me go it gripped on to me as if i was a soft cuddly teddy bear.
ReplyDeleteIt looked at me with huge glossy innocent eyes.Those pitch black eyes seemed to pull me closer and closer to the haunting endless pit of its eyes.Its chubby features made me scared that it might reach out and strangle me with those fat chubby paw.
